Masks

Masks

A Poem by Kami Grace
"

What is my true face?

"
I wear a mask on streets,
a mask lack of emotion.
People rarely notice me,
children seldom talk to me,
as I am always as calm as the ocean.

I wear a mask at school,
a mask filled with laughter.
Teachers usually think I speak cheerfully,
classmates often chat with me casually,
as I am always as happy as an actor.

I wear a mask at home,
a mask full of smiles.
Father grumble that I don't have worries,
Mother scolds that I am not serious on studies,
as I am always as fake as lies.

Can I ever take off my mask?

That dogma think - trying to please everybody, I guess I gave it up. It was a nice poem.
