Sissy

Sissy

A Poem by Mazie Tackett

Grown up.

Grown apart.

I need you now

with all my heart.

I need advice.

I need love.

I need my sissy.

I need a hug.

I feel lost.

I'm losing you.

You're always gone,

or with someone new.

I need my sissy.

Where'd she go?

She's always free,

and I'm left alone.

She can't see

how much I pain.

She can't see

how much i strain.

But would she care?

Would she stop?

Would she change?

Maybe, maybe not.

Kind of makes me wish I had a sister. The emotion in this poem is very well and you can feel it throughout.

Flow wise, this is the tops.

I love that it's "sissy" and not "sister". It's really authentic and genuinely moving that way. Nice!

I wish I knew if you really meant that you want to know what I think. I'll be nice. It's an alright poem. It's traditionally accurate. As far as prosody and other thematic elements, I won't comment. People on this site are mostly younger and are very sensitive. Sorry. I'll read more of you and see if I like it better.
