Facade

Facade

A Poem by MCKryger

I could see the sun

but I couldn't feel it.

The world dark, yet strangely too bright.

Life imposed beautiful moments onto me.

Beauty loved trickery,

It shunned me when I thought my turn

My bed felt safe, and the sleep polite.

Sleep didn’t taunt me with

warmth I could not feel

or love I could not enjoy.

I could not feel the sun in sleep

But I could not see it either.
