death

death

A Poem by Adri Moolman

I know he's watching your every move

plotting his next scheme

if I were you I'd stop running

he follows anyway

You would know when his there

it won't be pleasant

you won't know his name

but he knows you

he won't let you stay

he wants to take you away

It will be your end

don't yell and scream

you would know its him

and you have to leave with him

don't struggle or cry

just let it be

death won't wait up

he'll take you when he gets you

on the right time

not to soon or to late

you cannot run

he always follow

'Death' is such a question... that no one wants to answer it...

hmm a bit of dark...and scary.... But I liked this work Andri :)

Death is inevitable...and even though it is an opposite sentiment, I am reminded of the famous words "Rage, rage against the dying of the light, do not go gentle into that good night". Sure, we must succumb gracefully, but until that point we must strive to be the best that we can be. An interesting and compelling write. Only a few little technical issues-- 5th line "his" should be "he's" and line 13 "its" should be "it's".

Death is impermanence and the universe is impermanent. Good spooky poem.

What a sense of fear and dread can follow us just knowing that Death is always near; always waiting for the next victim. A powerful glimpse into the darkness.

"Men fear Death, as children fear to go in the dark; and as that natural fear in children is increased with tales, so is the other." ~ Francis Bacon

This punctuated the mood I put myself into when I had just written my own little scary piece. But yours is more terrifying.

Good job. Your words ring with fatality and impending doom. This is one of my favorites that you've written.

i do not fear the reaper, hell, we have played cards together....met him a couple of times and seen him in passing many, many times. matter of fact i have a date to meet him one day....i look forward to a better place than this pathetic life...stuck inside this fragile shell. this is a clever little write and travels familiar territory in a unique light. well done...

That legitimately sent shivers down my spine. That scary feeling of always looking over your shoulder, knowing you can't escape, is truly demoralizing. You've portrayed that feeling beautifully, and I like this piece.

oh this is an eerie one .... but wherever you are if God will take you, you can't deny it, if it's your time that's your time. Great provoking write.
