Doom

Doom

A Poem by MeithaSoekotjo

It might sound so arrogant if,

I say, that I am a victim of my younger age,

my beautiful looks,

my lovely heart.

Or it is a reality that,

it’s not easy to understand how,

fortune could be a doom,

than just as a joyful  thing in life

I would say:

This body is not only mine

It’s His body

It’s His heart

I might sound unreal now

But yes, I try to be as proper as I could in using

All HIS in mine

All this that you feel and see as temptations

I might say, it’s my fault

It might calm you down

But not me

Because it will hurt Him.

Another autobiographical poem.

A poem about the dangers of good fortune, expressely relating to one's looks and body. How it can be a blessing as well as a sin to be blessed with good looks and body shape.
This culminates with a religious meaning....that the body is also a vessel of the Lord, and as such, should be treated correctly, and not given up to temptation.
A dualistic poem. Interesting writing.
