The Expanse

The Expanse

A Poem by melanie j bean

The Expanse

My Body as well as my pride

were wounded in the galling dispute.

My wary defiance's were temporarily set aside,

as I was assaulted by the ominous sea's attitude.

As I peered out into the great wide open,

it was evident there were mysteries in the world

far beyond my understanding and knowing.

After all God formed this measurless Expanse with one word.

I hang my head and contemplate what is real.

What is my part in the big picture?

Does anybody understand how I feel?

They say all my answers can be found in Scripture.

I wonder, when will God talk to me as he did Moses?

I know he could, oh how I wish he would.

but my heart is shrouded with decaying walls of faded roses.

When he tears down my fears will he find me humble and good?
