Flightless Angel

Flightless Angel

A Poem by Melanie Marie
"

ReMake of previous writing I wrote in Dec 2013

"
She is always watching;
while you sleep,
when you are awake.
She will guide you
when you are lost.
Just close you eyes and with your heart
call to her.
She will help you find your way.
She see's you suffer and will grab you tightly by the hand,
For if you are to fall she will go with you.
She will pull you up and save you from darkness.
I know, because she saved my life many times over.
Now she has gone, but only to save herself.
Her body mortal, used, battered.
Flightless Angel.
A sinner she is, once with a heart pure as gold.
Wings so White mortal eyes dare not look away.
Evil taints all who give up,
With only little good left in her heart
wingless beauty must now go.
When you find your wings,
I only pray our hearts reconnect and you call to me.
Forever I will love my lost Angel,
for she saved me from the darkness,
only to lose herself.
Hands reaching out you only push them away.
I too craved the darkness and lost a part of myself,
my heart, my love, and my Angel.
For you may have lost your wings, only
this time by choice.
Me?
My wings have broken through my thick skin,
blood pouring down my back, the pain of your every
lie, deceit, betrayal, every f**k, legs spread, guilt,
shame, hate, and hopelessness.
Not only from you but also my own suffering.
I must go now my love, my fallen angel.
I have been exhausted and broken too many times.
Find me, for I will call your heart every night.
My love, my light, my flightless Angel.
