An Evil Seduction

An Evil Seduction

A Poem by Melanie Marie

Through the darkness, I have seen light.
In the coldest winter nights, I have felt heat.
Broken heart bleeding
Lust has come knocking in my meer defeat.
Devil's breath like fire on my neck.
Self will overpowering my decisions,
greed craving beautiful crystals that melt with once blow of fire.
Lungs freezing as a layer of thick chemical starts to cloud into my body.
My breathing suddenly stops, yet more..I need more,
Killing myself with every inhale, heart growing weaker, lungs failing..

Give me more

The darkness Is prevailing.

Interesting imagery that leaves the subject to welcome interpretation. The first stanza set a bleak tone and the transition from hot to cold in the second and third stanzas was cool (pun not intended). I am interested as to why you chose this particular structure, going from the upper right and sliding diagonally down. Choosing to center the lines in the third stanza was an interesting choice.
