The Tragedy of Timothy Brown

The Tragedy of Timothy Brown

A Poem by kerri

tell me where shall i begin
is this the new found world?
or the creation of original sin?
i follow the sunrise
out of the corner of my eyes
and it takes me, takes me home
to this place where i no longer am alone.
he was there, and she was too
we laughed about it, as if we were new,
new to this feeling, to
the burning
the yearning
the freedom.
one foot in front of the other,
inhale
exhale
fly.

Reminds me of climbers cresting a glacier and meeting another group for the push to the summit.

Wow.. it's a beautiful piece. I've read it several times and I'm not sure what I think it's about but honestly the first thing it made me think of was something sexual. the words "original sin" and "as if we were new, new to this feeling". The second thing I think of would be escape.. escape from this world into another, whether it's fantasy or dreamland.. Well written, thank you for sharing
