THE OLD WORLD

THE OLD WORLD

A Poem by Mercsa
"

Remembering how people used to be in the past.

"
Take me back to the days,
Where love an care was the order of the day,
Selflessness and togetherness was like a cloth to the people,
Love for virtues and compassion was their daily food to the people.

Take me back to the days,
Where there were no divisions,
People seeing themselves as one another’s keeper,
Tolerating and respecting one another,
Seeing themselves as brothers and sisters,
And clothing themselves with peace and harmony.

Take me back to the days,
Where the regard for divinity was a priority,
Where the people took shelter in innocence,
And shielded themselves with truth.

Oh! take me back to the days,
Where our youths were God fearing and humble,
Covering themselves and keeping their bodies as a precious gift.

Please, take me back to the days,
Where our world knew nothing,
But love for virtue and togetherness.

this is a plea for something that has been so badly lost...love, pride, togetherness....and yes, virtue.
so well conveyed here.
