Those Easy Moments...

Like the times we just sit together... the moments spent talking, about anything... everything. The pleasure felt just fixing your coffee in the mornings. The easy smile you give me as you reach for the cup. Seeing you concentrating on something important to you. Lost inside yourself, then looking up and making eye contact with me... and watching your eyes sparkle. And when I'm running errands, or just working around the house... it's the warm feeling inside when I think of you, and... how it gets warmer when I see you. Those easy moments. Looking across the room and seeing you sitting there, and not believing you choose to be here, with me. Watching you move about the kitchen, preparing our favorite dinner. Helping to set the table, and softly touching you as you move past. Smiling at work whenever I think about you... for no other reason than you just entered my mind. Smiling bigger because someone recognized my smile... and knew why I was smiling. Those easy moments. I just can't get home soon enough, because I know you are already there. Wanting to hear and share... everything the two of us did that day. Listening to every word and watching your lips as you speak them... and amazed at your beauty, and wit. Those easy moments... at the end of the day. Holding you warmly... easily, at my side; knowing now what heaven must be like. The smell of your hair, the softness of your skin... your touch... the ease in which you lean in for a tender kiss. And at night, when we make love with and for each other, I have to fight back the tears that form, because of the love and joy shared with one another. If ever I forget for a moment just what I want in life... all I have to do is think of you, and those easy moments. They will remind me why and for what I'm living for... and why I'm so lucky and thankful, to have you in my life.
