If You Shoot Yourself in the Foot, Just Cut it Off

If You Shoot Yourself in the Foot, Just Cut it Off

A Poem by Michael Howell

I'm tired of this game.

But unfortunately, breaking the rules

takes two

One person cannot throw the

board and pieces across the room

without make the one

they're playing with

cry

You can thrust those pink fifties

in my face all you want

but I'll never move

because other players slip me

far more money under the table

If I refuse to play

I just wish you could see the truth

of the situation.  If you

left the table with me,

your hand in mine,

we could be far more rich than you'd

ever expect

because people pay good money to see

others act out their dreams.  And

we could fulfill ours with

their sad and unfulfilled dreams and pictures

it's so easy to see, just

tie your shoes and

come on
