Looking Glass

Looking Glass

A Poem by mikeb9183
"

Poem about perception

"
Waves of motivation crash over me

Leaving me where I was

Perception is my reality

Stuck in the mud

Like Platos allegory of the cave

I'm in the shadows

I perceive the light

And change seems real

For better or worse

We all grow old

Die

Are born

And people come and go

I value love and friendship

I strive for change

But can we truly see each other on the same plane

What's right?

What's wrong?

What's good?

What's bad?

What values do you have?

Are these the questions to be asking?

The irony of moral principles are that they are never lasting

Like chameleons adapting

And absolute truth seemingly out of grasp

Peering though our looking glass

these are intelligent questions to ask. trying to find our place. i like the part about the irony of moral principles ever changing. something that would have offended me in my past is now the trend. i don't know that there is an absolute truth, if like you said, our perception is our reality. excellent poem.
