Yours Is Mine

Yours Is Mine

A Poem by Miles

Cracked, these snacks
If not snakes
Burning a fire
Played like a master

Bring out the others
With a subtle taste
Cringe as they singe
Breaking the chips

Like hypnotists
As a locust
Frayed abominations and discomfort
Bleeding

I hope so
And they do to
Death isn't something to look forward to
More so, a debt

Collective, knowing
Yours is mine
Relinquishing nothing
But a failure to witness

Find the coolant spray
Douse that animal array
As the heat spills and thrills
Your patient losses

I'm sealing the lid
Joke around, but it's locked
Curse me, if you wish
I'll still win

I already know
And I don't care
But keep thinking you'll get away with this one
And keep thinking it's all in your hands
