Giving...something...The Gifts I Would Give? (Early Very Rough Draft)

Giving...something...The Gifts I Would Give? (Early Very Rough Draft)

A Poem by Arly Parent
"

Early Early Rough Draft-

"
My love,
what are your wants?
I would give you everything you could ever hope for.
I would pluck stars from the sky
and seeds of life from the earth
for you.

I would
make you head of all that is,
your every word made whole(manifest?)

I would
end war
sow kindness in all the world
rain diamonds upon the street
build pockets of silence where you can retreat
and
share a place just with you where our love can unfurl

I would give you anything,
if you would but name it.

My heart,
you could
give me children who loved me for all time
give me lips of stimulants, lullabies, sweet succor, and bracing courage
give me standing over all things I see,
placing no pedestals higher than me
shower me with gifts and tokens and all the world
and it would be the sweetest of sweets

But it comes down to this
which is all I'll ever need
bake me something that takes forever and one day
a quick recipe
a pinch of kindness, a teaspoon of care, a cup of effort, dusted with loyalty, and thickened with trust.

My wife,
just give me you
all of you to care for
give me your effort
give me your kindness
give me your care
give me your loyalty
give me your trust
and I am yours now, tomorrow, and forever

About
There's nothing about me. I play with pauses as well as silence. I write words, assign meanings and junk, and play with a language that might be as much my own as another. I don't know. more..
