my old friend

my old friend

A Poem by Millzy86
"

written 2014 during a transition time not written all at once possibly why there's 2 sides to it

"
That same feeling returns
All to familiar to hide
An aching in my chest
As my hearts taken for a ride

The lure of hope and love
Too tempting to refuse
Pain my private addiction
It's still my mind to lose

Living in a false paradise
Though the edges are in flames
Walking through a life bred from fantasy
These delusions need to change

The lure of hope and love
Too tempting to refuse
My pain my private addiction
It's my mind I lose

We play a game of cat and mouse
Cued by the movie playing in my head
A dream of how it's supposed to be
Yet the mouse always ends up dead

The twisted lure of hope
Too tempting to refuse
Feeding my addiction
A sick thirst for the forbidden
And Again I lose

Bravo! Reality is often a kindness we wish we could live without, but without the harsh and painful realities how could we judge happiness or kindness? How could there be love to counterbalance hate? That is why I like dark poetry, often it is more real because is doesn't sugarcoat things where fantasy (Living in a false paradise) is not just an escape it is the birth of hope. Good read, I enjoyed it and hope more people read and leave a review, they could learn something from it :~)

I am just a normal person but I use poetry to express the things I can't say. Still very much an amateur but I just wrote what comes. I'm open to criticism as it helps refine the hand. more..
