The Children of Covered Eyes

The Children of Covered Eyes

A Poem by Irma Chavez

I hide in darkness

masking colored light

surrounding what you think you might.

I watch intently

holding golden truth

eternity will watch as you think to move.

Identified sins

flourishing in flesh

increasing the chances of alert possibility.

Relating the results

Of lacking any sense

unknowing of fear, screaming til deaf,

desiring all leading to fizzing dissolution of self.

And I think you

To mirror the cold

Before taking one long lasting look at the world.
