Simply Switch Roles

Simply Switch Roles

A Poem by SinglePoet
"

"This was just on my mind."

"

I remember the simple times

When everything was given

Nothing was hard

And no one cared

We would laugh an joke

And take life for granted

I remember the simple times

When no one depended on me

When I could go and come as I please

Without a little hand to hold

No one to change my name

And no one that looked the same

But now the simple times

Have come to an end

An extra mouth to feed

And I'm no longer me

My name is "Mom"

Oh yes that's me

I hear it in my sleep

No peace for me

But no complaining on my end

It's the choice I made

So the simple times have gone

And left love instead.
