Fragile

Fragile

A Poem by Mazzdalyn
"

This is one of my drafts for an upcoming English poetry slam competition.

"
i force blue bruised knuckles to clench in cold iron fists
i can't help but brush your red cheek though really i aim for air
oh god it's a sleepless winter again isn't it

it's okay i'll break my fingers for you
you won't have to lift one up for me
1 2 3 count the seconds before you cradle my neck
anticipate the dancing stars and feel the finger
print galaxies already forming like a new row of piano keys

i fall to my knees and thank God for this new snow
only to turn right around and apologize for the mess
scream because this sleepless winter is sempiternal

Author's Note

Mazzdalyn
all lowercase letters are purposeful, still unsure whether or not to end with the line I use to end the first stanza
