Sundown

Looking out across the sea

A sunset waits for you and me

Gaze upon colors so true

As peaches and pinks turn to blues

The sun is down and stars appear

I whisper sweet nothings in your ear

I tell you my wishes you tell me your dreams

I tell you I care among other things

The night is ending much too soon

I let my gaze fall upon the moon

The gentle light illuminates your face

I think it’s time to pick up the pace

You kiss me gently, your mouth is sweet

I feel myself falling into the arms of defeat

Now what to do, I feel so light

I’ll be on cloud nine the rest of the night

You’ve crossed the bridge that led to my heart

And the night is now over, it’s time to part

But let’s say later and not goodbye

For this sunset will never die
