poor girls are not beautiful

because poor girls are weak
poor girls are shrunk
their body has emaciated
even their b***s are sapless

and also their laugh
does not laugh like flowers

because they are poor

i think what you did with this topic was interesting, your poems always give me great imagery in my mind, i feel as if this poem could be takin very sarcastically but very literally as well- maybe t hat was the point of the poem, i think it's interesting to read all of the comments and how some think its sarcasm and how some think its literal and "mean" and "demeaning"--i think what you did made people think and try to analysize it- so i think you did the job-regardless of what my views on the poem are!

"poor girls are not beautiful because poor girls are weak" because poverty makes them so for its easy for them to fall in the pit of money's seductions..but i say not most of them for everyone has different points of view, some have principles and values of life(like they value their family more than themselves)
... some are strong willed because at an early age they know what it means to have nothing and lived & fed for themselves... and that's makes them beautiful...

all in all there are different sides of poverty, i may not experienced it all but I've touched it's hardship...
