Baby Blue

This poem is dedicated to my first love, Jonathan Le'Mar Edwards. I loved you since I was 14... The significance of this poem is the colors of course. His favorite being baby blue, my boyfriends, grey

It seems my colors blue….

But not just any blue….baby blue.

There’s irony in it…

Cus lately I’ve been feeling kinda blue..more confused.

Yet more focused…

So unhappy with my life…but there’s really nothing wrong.

Baby blue…not grey…

Because if it was grey, it would be dreary. And it kinda is.

It’s like a constant rainy day. There’s nothing to do so you do nothing..

Or something…just repeating…

So it’s grey, but it’s not.

It’s baby blue,

Because I don’t allow it to be grey…

I let my f*****g light break through the monotony of that bullshit

And if it takes a few days of thunderstorms for that to happen, so be it…

But I’ma shine. And there will be blue…

Baby blue…

It’s always been you..

And if God formed me from any man’s rib, it’s yours he’d undo

And put it closest to my heart to begin his foundation

And sculpt me into the most beautiful creation

Made especially for you…

And you for me…baby blue…

There’s no limits with you….

And not only is it physical, but its mentality true.

Even metaphysically, I feel you there too….

In good times and jokes,

Long talks….longer strokes…

Your mind fascinates me every time you speak.

You’re mine

Our frequencies are in sync…

Vibrating through the years of grey, I still see blue

Bold, undaring, and humbly cool,

Yet intelligent, ambitious, a virtuous dude.

And if that ain’t enough, you’re the homie too..

My life may be grey, but it should be you..
