Dancing With A Stranger - PoemA Poem by mjrocoI didn’t see you walk in, But I felt your eyes upon me, I didn’t know your name, But you put your hand out for me, And you spoke such sweets words “Would you like to dance?” And I was taking it all in, As I nodded yes, I couldn’t find an inch of protest, As you lead me away, To the dance floor we stood, To the dance floor we swayed, And who know I would be feeling this way, And you held me and twirled me, You never looked down, You looked in my eyes, And we listened to the sound of the music, The thumping of our hearts in our chest, And here I am dancing with a stranger, And now we know the rest, Strangers to friends, Friends to more, And remember that evening we were strangers dancing? You were once a stranger, And I nothing more, But here we are now not strangers any more.
