Failure, Alone

Failure, Alone

A Poem by Michael Kenitzer

Alone at night,
Counting the sheep.
Lying awake in bed,
I can't fall asleep.
Memories burned in my mind,
Of things that happened this night.
I've hurt the one I loved,
Offended her, made her cry.
What am I supposed to do,
To stop the pain she feels inside.
I did something,
That I thought I never could do.
I tried to do my best,
I guess it didn't do.
Im sorry I hurt you,
I never ment to.
I failed myself,
And I failed you

This is heart wrenching. It is one of the worst feelings in the world when you have failed the one you love. It hurts because you fail yourself too. Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece.
