Gone but home

Gone but home

A Poem by Chris

Gone but home.
Away but right here.
You think you see me.
But I am not there.
I have never been.
I got lost a long time ago.
Constantly seeking for something I don't know.
Trying to remember who I was before it all.
Was I ever there at all?
Or has my mask been on too long?
The long dark evening's bring no comfort.
Whisper my name so I care.
Take my hand and make me trust.
I can no longer find myself.
Can you?
Tonight, tomorrow, always..
