The Proposal

The Proposal

A Poem by MelLo

It could be fathomable reality,
the one you propose so selfishly.
I don't doubt your reasons for a second,
yet I know that your love has limits
and I cannot acquiesce to such pain forever.
They claim I'm crazed for love,
but only when you are right in front of me.
I cannot foresee myself these promises to keep.
Without you my world is incomplete.
Without you I carelessly lose track of minutes and days.
Without you I fear there may not be future nor present
and I plead for mercy to be my shining knight!
Is there only one way out?
Can there be another way to remind you that life is not as you suppose.
A forever cannot be until you commence the journey;
A love of a lifetime is one you must cherish daily,
praise daily, hold and kiss daily, be thankful and show love back always.
To crave passion is to envelope in the fervor of love,
of our love, never putting convenience ahead of happiness.
I crave passion!
I want, no, I demand that love is first in a list of reasons.
If not, there is no sense in making an insignificant comment mean anything. Leave it to be empty!
Empty words escape those lips that I've craved.
But where will your lips be when mine seek them for a sweet kiss?
Where will you call home every night?
Where will I?
All these questions cannot have answers without you...
Because without you, there is no path nor destiny!
Without you, there is no me...
Can you be complete without me?
