There is Not a Day

There is Not a Day

A Poem by Glen Thompson

There is not a day I do not think of cars.

Cars as fast as lightning.

There is not a day I do not think of the windows in the cars.

Cars as fast as lightning, and windows as clear as water

There is not a day I do not think of running away.

Running away at the speed of light, in a car as fast as lightning, looking out windows as clear as water.

There is not a day I do not think of the disappointment in your eyes.

It was as clear as day, in a car as fast as lightning, with windows as clear as water, us running away at the speed of light.

There is not a day I do not think of how great it could have been.

As great as a storm, with clear as day disappointment in your eyes, in a car as fast as lightning, with windows as clear as water, us running away at the speed of light.

There is not a day that I am not sad.

As sad as a tree being cut down.
