The Breath In Me

The Breath In Me

A Poem by mnicorata
"

I thought I would something about my own being and my own spirit.

"
Light this fire in mine
The ages pass in endless time
Beating around the fence of grace
Moments bewildered, never displaced

Songs from a raven dressed in green
Focusing on words into waking dreams
Momentarily gaining insight through songs
Inspired by mind but for not too long

Classical scratching the years away
Flying planes overhead of night and day
A scratch from an inkwell by its own
No one to call upon our way home

Deliberately hearing the echoes in ear
Finally delivering the stones, never bare
Highlighting past insight on a page
Scrub out the marker written on rage

It sets in numbly like a splinter
Waiting here for the coming winter
Freeze these bones that seem to last
Haunting images of a distant past
