The Syndrome

The Syndrome

A Poem by mnicorata
"

A poem I wrote describing what it is like having Asperger's Syndrome.

"
Confusion sets in as I take a walk
Thinking on how to create impact
Time ticks on as the mind settles
Making sure to keep things intact

The ride feels endless as it stirs
Creating sensations to dull it down
And noises and colors seem to blur
Spinning cautiously to make round

Through the cages that blister in me
Seeing through these chaotic eyes
Numbness follows as I go deep
Peeling away as moments die

The sorrow seems to almost loosen
When I focus all deep intentions
Creating a world by itself entirely
Damning thoughts keep attention

Then the frown turns in and around
As being pulled by the opposite forces
A solitary confinement in my dull mind
Seasons change while I change courses

Though when I speak I do not clarify
When it seems to fact I try to hide
Even though I fathom to duly nullify
A path lays above me within the sky

A pride sensation gathers at the mass
A moment withers as I begin to burst
A child screams at smiles as they pass
The occurrence begins when to curse

So when I try to change the means
Of regular opaque serenity dreams
I fight to gather what seeps into me
Tilling away at the burden of the key
