Immersion

Immersion

A Poem by Jacqueline
"

Releasing Internal Pain

"

Immersion

as i stare into the water
trying to find something no longer
there
i feel so uneasy
and yet everything seems so clear

blocking out all sound
ignoring voices of concern all
around
there's no saving a life that's
fading
hiding in plain sight refusing to
be found

i take a step
i feel the wind caressing my
neck
closing my eyes i fantasize
morbid freedom that will soon
materialize

one final look behind my
shoulder
a tear creates a ripple effect
no longer am i a reject
unloved or
scorned
a mistake who shouldn't have been
born
empty pleas fail to convince
i will no longer keep the crowd in
suspense...

liquid coldness;
this is what i've chosen
may God have mercy on my soul
as my flesh will soon be
frozen

So sad, but so unnecessary. Good, solemn write though. Well versed.
