Desert Night

Desert Night

A Poem by May B. Laidur
"

Inspired by the first part of the song "Scars of Time".

"
I'm sitting alone in the desert night
The city lights so far away.

I may seem cold and shivering,
But the moonlight keeps me warmer
Than the sunlight of the day.

I gaze up at the stars that my friends left behind
As they all tell me stories
Lost to the sands of time.

All is at peace here in the desert sands.
The moonbeams fall like snowflakes
As I stare at the Milky Way bands.

Not a whisper is heard
As the starlight falls on the moonlit sand,
Yet something sings to me in that silence.

Something sings in the desert quiet...
