Baby Blue

Baby Blue

A Poem by Jacob L. Moeller

A daughter's dance on daddy's

toes shows no one knows

the steps like she does.

She’s been waiting

with bated breath,

her baby blue dress billows

behind as fine leather

shoes move her through

the room smoothly.

She takes lead,

he lets go-

the ballroom draws back sharply

like the tide.
