the brick wall

the brick wall

A Poem by Mohl083
"

meh...

"
i'd been a lot better off
if that damn phone never rang.
the guy on the other end
painting a portrait of a bone
dripping with fat
that was all but within my reach.
fools who dare to dream
and reach for the clouds
end up with their faces in the mud
and a pointy rock
jabbing them in the back.
this hard-a*s game of musical chairs
between three people,
and i always find myself standing
while those with phantom experience
throw their feet up.
i knew everything i was ever told
was a lie long ago,
but there must be a shred of ignorance
that clings to the belief
of a kernel of truth
buried in all the s**t.
