A Poem by Molly Garnet

and finally
one morning
she woke up
and didn’t miss him anymore
and she put cream and sugar in her coffee
instead of tears
she went to a bookstore by herself
and read the last chapter
of seventy-six novels
she threw away the cigarettes
and poured the red wine down the sink
she walked to a local café
ate lunch alone
and paid the tab for a stranger
while window shopping
she found herself staring at every pink sundress
so she bought three
and replaced the dark rags in her closet
that night
she watched the sunset from her roof
and it became a prayer
she drank vanilla tea before going to sleep
and never again did she miss him.

Wow I really loved this. I love the boldness of your writing. I especially liked the part of how she read all the last chapters of the books - almost like a form of closure. Great job

Thank you thank you!'
What a delight Bravo *claps*.. I'm amazed and this was so great and I'm thank Lori for inviting me for sucha wonderful poetry.. Each and every single line of this poetry speaks a lot what has happened to her. This just went all way from my eyes to mind, mind to heart and stucked there forever.
I don't have rating above 100 here or else I would rate this 200
Splendid work - Molly Garnet..
Cheers!

You're welcome :)
I like the poem a lot. You led the reader on a good journey to overcome sadness and to forget a heartbreak. I like when she bought the yellow sundresses. Good visions and thoughts by the outstanding poem. We need change to over and forget sadness.

Thank you!!
I enjoyed this piece of catharsis, and I found myself smiling at her last act of drinking vanilla tea before going to sleep. At, the cure for broken hearts, and how we can make them whole again! The metaphor of the sunset as a prayer was a nice touch as well. I like how that idea, one with so many colors, follows the one about replacing the dark rages in the closet with the three pink sundresses.

I think my favorite parts of this one were the line about reading the last chapters of those books, and paying the tab for that stranger.

Thank you for such a lovely, reflective review! I am so happy you enjoyed my writing.
I love writing like this...it has a pulse, and it is racing. So brilliantly it reads from line to line...a must have for my library!

So good to meet you, Molly. You are far from "ordinary"!

The power to move on is something not every one can do. This is sad in a way because she is alone, but not so sad because she moved on.

Thank you so much, it's a beautiful feeling to move on
happily ever after is so beautiful, i think the words are a prayer, theat they should be framed and placed on the wall beside all our mirrors so that we can remind ourselves every day what finally feels like
