The One Who Loves More

The One Who Loves More

A Poem by Molly Garnet

I miss you

I love you

Why does it feel like venom slipping down my throat

Like poison coursing through my veins

There’s something so beautiful

About being the one who loves more

But it’s far more beautiful on a screen

Or in the pages of a romantic novel.

In the real world

The one who loves more

Gets nothing

She pours everything she has into someone

Who is only willing to spare a few drops at a time

And so she’s empty

So empty

So quickly

Oh my god I miss you so much

Please love me

Please miss me

I’m broken
