Thank you for distracting me.

long enough to yank myself out from beneath the covers.

long enough to pull on some clothes, and brush my hair.

and questioning my use of make-up.

 

Thank you for reminding me that I have things to do.

that the unbearable is possibly bearable.

that I have you.

and pinky-promising you will always be here.

 

Thank you for holding my cold hands.

finding the time to push me through the seasons

finding ways to avoid the distances.

and bearing with my worries and tears.

 

Thank you for listening to me say absolutely nothing.

for understanding I dont always mean what I say.

for letting me whine about my painfully normal life.

and being a simple phone call away.

 

Thank you for being who you are

and coming down from your world

    to be imperfect with me.
