A Poem by Monday Parker

It’s been pages on a calendar

Since I have come cross anyone

Who sparks this in me

Your depth and intelligence

Quick witty words

The color of your smooth skin

I have been thinking of you often

Pouring energy from me

At the thought of you

Hunger

For your bare arms and dimples

For your light

Kindness and insight

Your faith

 Firmly planted feet.

A grown man

With values and worth.

If nothing else

The time we spent quietly in the

Warm surroundings of my house

Opened my eyes to more

Introduced me again to the goodness in people

To warmth and wholeness

You were brought into my life for a reason

To remind me there is more out there.

A bigger picture

A plan from god.

An excellent expression of feeling deeply for someone who has given you inspiration and taught you to believe. Written in a nice flowing conversational free verse. Could it be love or infatuation?
