Anyones Arms

Anyones Arms

A Poem by Monday Parker

Anyone’s arms will do

To help me forget about you

I am searching

Like a famished vagrant

Hungered for the love

That you promised

The arms that held me so closely

Are gone- cast me out like a fishing line

Now emptiness surrounds

Engulfs

Comforted only by my tight grip

Wrapped around my torso

Attempting to ease the trembling

The ache to be held again

To be loved

Truly

Maybe for the first time and

Anyone’s arms will do.

cast me out like a fishing line - What a visual you created with this line...

The ache to be held again -- I have sure felt this before, like a knot in your stomach...

Anyone's arms will do. -- Yeah...

Nicely done, beautifully written, so poignantly so that I can feel the sadness attached to each word. Great write.

Sadness fills me when I read your poem
Love loss can tear you up inside and make
you search for something to fill the whole
thats left.

Great write thanks for sharing.
