You’re The Past

You’re The Past

A Poem by Monday Parker

My instincts have always been strong

I know without knowing

Experience and intuition

I see

Way past the fake in you

Scheming and self-absorbed

I see you

Treading water of displeasure

Sending your toxic vibes in

My sunny direction

I understand your end game

Your ambition

But I’m going to stop you right there girlfriend

You see…..

I already won

Pack it up

Keep your past

And I will have the future.

With his ring on my finger

Taking his last name.

Wow, I can feel this poem and it is powerful. I had just read another of yours, puppet themed and came back to comment and it was gone but it was very strong as well. And then noticed that this one and that are a few years apart. Hoping you cut those strings and send the past back to where it belongs.
