Inside Me

Inside Me

A Poem by Shaunta R. Edwards

Two People Inside Me?
Which One is Me?
Both?
The Self Destructive Soul headed for Damnation, or the Level Headed Mother with a bright future?
Which one is it?
Do I even Know?
Nothing lies inside but answerless questions.
So Lost Within Myself.
Not Knowing Who I am, Who I love, What I dare to be.
Strewn into utter chaos, It's all I seem to know.
So Desperately grasping for the simple life,  the boring life.
Can I even handle that?
One Side, the level headed side, says "Of Course"
The other side however believe this insanity is the path she deserves, the path she was born to walk.
Torn between Dementia,  or so I believe...
Better now than later I suppose...
Give In?
Commit?
Call myself Crazy!
Nothing people don't know anyway, if you think about.
We' re all stuck with ourselves aren't we?
Even if there's more than one?

omg you're so right. hmmm, maybe life is figuring out who we AREN'T in order to figure out who we ARE....and until we've figured out all that we aren't, there will always be more than one Self, comprised of the persons we've not yet realized to be not. i enjoyed reading this mucho. great ending!

Wow! I want to hear you read this out loud, there's so much emotion in every line.
"We're all stuck with ourselves aren't we?
Even if there's more than one?"
Those lines are definitely going to stick with me! What a great ending.
