While You Were Away

While You Were Away

A Poem by Bo Lanier

Well and you said you needed some room

To breath and time to think because maybe

We’re taking things way too fast

So if you really care about me you'll wait

For me and if it's meant to be it will last

Oh but now you've been gone too long

And While You were away someone else

Came along

Someone who makes me feel good all day

Every day and all night long

Someone who makes me smile and feel so,

So strong

I found a new love in an awesome friend

So don't expect me to take you back now

If you ever come back again

I know I said I'd wait for you until the Cow's

Come home but darlin'

You just been gone, gone too long

Although I had every intention to wait

For you but how can you ask a heart to live?

A life that lonely and blue

Heaven knows I still wish the very best for

You

I do hope you find what you're looking for

But I'm not in love with you anymore because

Darlin' While You Were Away someone else

Came along

Someone who makes me feel good all day

Every day and all night long

Someone who makes me smile and feel so,

So strong

I found a new love in an awesome friend

So don't expect me to take you back now

If you ever come back again

I know I said I'd wait for you until the Cow's

Come home but darlin'

You just been gone, gone too long

Now someone else is in my heart today

What do you expect when you were gone?

Too long away, no my heart just couldn't

Wait all the while, While You Were Away!
