On the Big Hill by the Old Red Barn

Looking back on the past ten years of my life

I remember you and those wild and crazy days

Growing up together in Clear View Montana

We sure did have a lot to learn but the world was

Already had already decided our fates and one

Sad day in November my mama and daddy moved

Us a thousand miles away from my childhood home

But I will never forget you and how every day after

School you would wait for me ON THE BIG HILL

BY THE OLD RED BARN and finally one day when

I was sixteen I let you kiss me and I felt as high

As a kite on a cool windy autumn day oh 'cuz I'd

Been kissed before but not in such a passionate way

And as long as I live I'll never forget that day ON

Time I was seventeen this is where we did come to

Lay, dreaming the day away and you were my first

Oh but I heard not too long ago they tore down

That old red barn and built a Wal-Mart there, I know

Things change but I still feel like sometimes life ain't

Fair and to top it all off I heard you passed over a few

Months ago, I tried not to let my sorrow show but

Sitting here on my front porch swing down in New

Orleans I can still see you as clear as day waiting

For me to meet you as always...

We would sit and talk about all the dreams we had

Made, until the sun would set and we knew we

Had to go home but we thought there was always

Sweet happy days that still seems just like yesterday
