In the Tall Grass of Dreams (James Dean)

In the Tall Grass of Dreams (James Dean)

A Poem by Bo Lanier

Rebel without a cause and bad to the bone

In his white tight t-shirt and back pocket comb

Oooh well I think you were one real cool dude...

But of course there was more to you than

That ever did meet the eye and although you've

Been gone a long, long time your legend will

Never die...

Somewhere east of Eden, IN THE TALL GRASS

OF DREAMS, a scene off a movie screen, I can

Hear your laughter in the wind, you wink at me

And then disappear again somewhere east of Eden

IN THE TALL GRASS OF DREAMS, it’s JAMES DEAN

On the cover of another magazine, somewhere

Somewhere east of Eden, IN THE TALL GRASS OF

DREAMS are the scene off a movie screen...

Starring and now showing JAMES DEAN...

Rebel without a cause and bad to the bone

In his red, red jacket and back pocket comb...

I wish I could have met you 'cuz I bet you were one

Real cool dude...

Still though your legacy lingers...

Bad, bad boy JAMES DEAN...

East of Eden...

Somewhere IN THE TALL, TALL GRASS OF DREAMS!
