Out of Reach

Out of Reach

A Poem by Siobhan
"

...when you forget to reach for the moon, nothing seems possible...

"

Out of Reach

The stars are out of reach today, hidden
beneath the clouds, and behind the shadow
lurks the new moon, her madness is my own.
I’m impatient for her fullness; her light
stirs my passion, a slow simmer of lust
about to boil over under cover
of darkness – made translucent by her glow.

Yet in this moment, I stand on my own
two feet of clay, mired in everyday
worries – money and bills – love out of reach
and dancing in the stars I cannot see.
My sense of wonder is dulled, passion lost
to things which don’t matter outside the here
and now – in a moment they’ll be gone.
