Tales Told Tell Lies

Tales Told Tell Lies

A Poem by Miguel Serrano

Sweet li'l farer of rainbow-streamed fancy

One forth-ride travel once eyes met night's dim

Savor the gold that covered what has he

One day you'll find that life's not one good dream

Rest on imagination's sanctuary

Merry-man's wonderland'll greet you from sleep

Will, as you wake, despise all calvary

For now, dear young, enjoy the show's good keep.

For as you wake, you shall see all in tears

All fairy tales are not how they seemed

One ever after's not all happy years

Fear out of lies, wish all's just how you dreamed.

Tales told tell lies, my child, tales told tell lies.

To take you to dreamland with false device

Tales told tell lies my child, just close your eyes

Beauty beyond grim, for tales told tell lies.
