The Bad Place

The Bad Place

A Poem by Beaudyn

There's a place inside my mind

Where my thoughts go to unwind

It's the same part of my brain

That slowly makes me go insane

In the bad place

Certain disgust turns to hate

Clouded views will culminate

Then the voices will begin

I'll question who is my real friend

In the bad place

The bad place has a mind of its own

When it's in control I'm not alone

It's not just my voice, now there are clones

A cold chill seeps right down to my bones

In the bad place

Can't show any fear or doubt

Or let on what it's all about

They'll send me away for good

Like the voices said they would

To the bad place

In their needles, evil lurks

All those white-coat doctor jerks

Dope me up with all their pills

Fill me, fill me to the gills

Where's the bad place?

Push me out into the hall

Feed me one more Adderall

I'll lay here so nice and quiet

Gone is my cerebral riot

No more bad place

WOW. This poem is PHENOMENAL. I love the way you describe that place- every one of us has it, some of us just hide it better than others.
