Love was... (Poem)

Love was what happened to me

It gave some hope;

but then shattered it

Love was what tore me apart

Showing two reflections of myself;

but one only being true

Love was what gave me happiness;

until one day, took all of it away

And left despair in me

Love was my guidance;

until it guided me to the wrong path

And blocked me from all ways

Love is now nothing to me;

and will stay like that;

until I find it again

Critique: (And blocked me from all ways) I am having a problem with this line as "all ways" doesn't fit the context of the sentence. It could "block me in all ways" or "from all directions" which seems to fit within the direction you were going, just a suggestion.

Review: In the book of life the section on relationships is the largest one and you have just added another page to it. It is always interesting to see the different thoughts, views and emotions others have on the topic. Each page of life's book offers a lesson from the experiences of others. That means you are now one of the teachers in the book of life and if you write enough poems on the minefield of love you could one day be a professor. Welcome to the facility of the book of life :~)
