Prophecy

Working on a bigger project that this is a small part of, so it's a little out of context, sorry.

A single seed took root and grew

Revered, mighty, imposing through

Branching shadows on all but few

Till lightning split the tree into

Spark that flew from ancient fire

Tinder nurtured it from mire

Both sides now fueled by desire

To reign high, as flame requires

Nourishment from kindred forest

Till one shall climb upon the crest

Fleeing fire from rotten nest

To see the peril come to test

Friend and foe, man and beast unite

To follow meek into the night

In darkness they will see their fight

To save the world in dawning light

The story is about a conquering dynasty that splits at the height of its power, and everything that came later.
