Chapter 12 - Jealousy, Anger and Hatred

It was dark outside Herstmonceux Palace, Nerzhul's castle. It was darker at the place where they keep the prisoners. In that place is a man, who like Aedan and Kaoru, is not from Ivalice. It was Riku, he was found by Sefir during the time of Gaia's destruction. Why did Sefir bring him here? Only he knows. Not even Riku knows why he was brought there. Prisoners have been treated like animals by the soldiers of Nerzhul. They gave them meager food. The prison walls were hot so they were always thirsty and exhausted. They whipped all the prisoners for no reason at all. These things Riku endured for he was a prisoner just like the others.

 

"It's been three days.....This place is like hell itself......how do I get out of here?" Riku thought to himself.

 

"I never knew that my world could be destroyed...." Riku again thought.

 

"What about Kaoru and Aedan? Are they alright? What do I care?! Aedan always treats me like s**t so screw him!!" Riku thought to himself.

 

"I just hope Kaoru's alright"  Riku thought.

 

"This s****y place is getting old for me." Riku said to himself.

 

Meanwhile Sefir and his other two companions had just arrived from Verian.

 

"That was a waste of time....The artifact is not there." Sefir said.

 

"I agree" Samael said.

 

"The Demented Horn was nowhere to be found. But Nerzhul's never wrong." Genieva said.

 

"I'll go to the master.....I'll talk to him." Sefir said.

 

Sefir went to the master's chambers and found Nerzhul's armor sitting at the throne. He got close to the throne and looked at the armor.

 

"Master, the demented horn was not there." Sefir said

 

"Impossible!!! Soleil never makes mistakes." Nerzhul replied.

 

"Well, he just did." Sefir said.

 

"Someone must've moved it....or has taken it....." Nerzhul said.

 

"What shall we do now master?" Sefir asked.

 

"Nonetheless, we shall look further.....I feel a strange presence.....at the north....." Nerzhul said.

 

"Mt. Parga master?" Sefir asked.

 

"I sense the whole dragon.....not an artifact......it must've been frozen......" Nerzhul said.

 

"I shall go there master....and free your dragon...." Sefir said.

 

"Go then......" Nerzhul said.

 

Sefir left the masters chambers and went to the prison. Karawan showed up at Nerzhul's side and said.

 

"I maybe blind.....but that Sefir.....I have a feeling that he has a plan....."

 

"I know.....he is up to something......I want you to find out....." Nerzhul said.

 

"Yes master..." Karawan said and he dissappeared from the master's chambers.

 

Sefir went to the cell where Riku is and said.

 

"Get up....."

 

Riku got up and looked at the cell door.

 

"It's you.....the one who took me......YOU B*****D!!!!! LET ME GO NOW!!!" Riku said.

 

Sefir opened the cell door. Riku got out and Sefir took him to the courtyard.

 

"What do you want from me?" Riku asked him.

 

"Cooperation. Do you know who this guy is?" Sefir said as he showed him a sphere with an image of someone who looked really familiar.

 

"Aedan!!" Riku said. "What do you want with him?"

 

"I want.....to kill him...." Sefir said.

 

"What?! No man I can't let you do that he's ma friend man." Riku said.

 

"Oh.....and he just treats you like s**t now right?"  Sefir said.

 

"How'd you know that?" Riku shockingly asked.

 

"I told you I know everything.....so know......who is the person that's most special to him?" Sefir asked.

 

"I dunno man!!" Riku said.

 

Sefir grasped Riku's neck and said; "I'll ask you one last time............who is the person that's most special to him?!"

 

"None man!!!" He doesn't consider any one special!!" Riku answered him while he was trying to be free of Sefir's hand.

 

Sefir tossed him and he said, "Your worthless......that's why Aedan treats you like s**t...."

 

After that Sefir left the coutyard and went to do the task that Nerzhul told him to. Riku felt his neck and he walked out of the courtyard. He walked furthermore inside the palace and saw the doorway to the master's chambers. He opened the doorand went in. Inside he saw an armor sitting on the throne. He got near to the throne and tried to touch the armor but someone spoke.

 

"Who dares to disturb my slumber?" Nerzhul said.

 

"I'm sorry......" Riku said.

 

"I sense......jealousy.....anger.......and hatred........" Nerzhul said. "And it comes from you....."

 

"What? No there must be some mistake." Riku tried to reason with Nerzhul.

 

"Look at this orb.....the one you will see is the one who made you feel this way...." Nerzhul said

 

Riku looked at the orb and he saw Aedan. He saw th time that he was fighting with Sefir and the time when Aedan did not care what he was saying.

 

"You're right.....I am jealous......because the girl I like somewhat likes Aedan....." Riku said.

 

"He is.....the wielder of the Redeemer...." Nerzhul said.

 

"I don't care.......I'm angry at him because he always treats me like I'm a nobody......." Riku said. "And now.....I feel a deep Hatred towards him for abandoning me.......when Gaia was being destroyed....." he added.

 

"Yes.......Yes.......YES!!!! Give in to the anger........devour the jealousy......and succumb to the Hatred!!!!" Nerzhul said. 

 

Shadow Mana was beginning to surround Riku and he thought that it felt good and he was succumbing to the dark power.

 

"I will give you unlimited power!!!!! If you promise to serve me and if you can kill the wielder of the Redeemer!!!" Nerzhul said.

 

"Yes.....Master...." Riku said. He was now cloaked in black and two chains have appeared on both of his arms. At the end of each chain was an axe. "

 

"I now therefore call you.....Riku, the Dark Lightning Revenant....." Nerzhul said.

 

"Yes Master. With this newfound power I will kill th Redeemer and it's owner!!!!" Riku said and sat down as Nerzhul's right hand man. Now we saw there that even a person like Riku can be corrupted and converted to evil.
