ACT 1 - Rise to Power

The era of bloodshed, otherwise known as the Tensho era though some people also refer to it as the Sengoku or the warring states period. The most adamant of it is "The Castle Siege at Nagashino". In where Takeda Katsuyori was at war with both Tokugawa Ieyasu and Oda Nobunaga. Katsuyori brought 17000 men of which consisted of samurai and gunmen, while Ieyasu and Nobunaga brought 38000 men consisting of Samurai, gunmen, but that's not the reason why Takeda lost. The secret is that Nobunaga had 1000 Ninja that worked behind the enemy lines. And once their defenses were down, the 1000 ninja stormed the castle which forced Takeda to retreat and which led to his loss.

 

After that war, the ninja rose to the hierarchy and became even with the ranks of samurai. The ninja changed the ways of the Japanese culture. The ninja was treated like soldiers in war and they became a valuable asset in the Sengoku.

 

But it was not this that gave the ninja a notorious name. In the Battle of Shizugatake supporters of Hideyoshi and Nobutaka were at war. Hideyoshi was the General of the troops who were in favor of Nobunaga and Nobutaka led the resistance. Its quite obvious that Hideyoshi had the advantage because he had Nobunaga's ninjas with him. The most prominent of these ninjas is a shinobi in the name of Nami-Rei. He was the leader of the Iga clan, the biggest clan of the ninja.

 

Nami-Rei Kobayashi, the most powerful ninja in the Iga clan and he also single - handedly over threw the Koga clan. He was Nobunaga's most trusted ninja and his fellow ninja are a part of his "special army". Nami -Rei was different from his ninjas. For one thing, he is the one who is most expirienced of all of them. He also has wisdom and temperance. His ninjas say that he has special skills. Half of it is true because he wields a special katana called "Izakujiki". This sword wields special powers such as when it is held by the owner, the sword itself enhances the users abilities. It binds with the owners spirit upon being passed on.

 

Izakujiki is the Iga clan's sword and it also shows proof that someone is the clan leader. The sword is passed on to the next leader in the clan.

 

In the present time Nami-Rei is training the future ninjas of the clan and while he was training them, he sensed something.

 

"Master Nami what is it?" asked one of the students.

 

"I sense something.....disturbing......but let's just let it slide for now." Nami-Rei said.

 

Up a tree a ninja was ready to assault Nami-Rei from above but he was just waiting patiently for him to let his guard down.

 

"Wait for it......NOW!!!" the ninja thought as he began to run towards Nami-Rei. He threw a punch at Nami's head and said.

 

"This isn't like you Nami!!!"

 

He gave a cocky grin but when he looked at the person he punched, it turned to a big lifeless log. Then somewhere behind him he felt a sword's blade resting on his shoulder.

 

"I sensed your presence Rikia.....it seems that you are not practicing your Ninjutsu well, particularly the Shinobi-iri..." Nami-Rei said.

 

"Well... yeah but I've been really working hard...." Rikia replied.

 

Rikia was one of Iga clan's ninjas. He was a young boy about the age of 10 presently. He excelled in ninjutsu in terms of head to head combat but in terms of stealth, you can say that he still needs a little work.

 

"Remember Rikia, A ninja remains silent at all times." Nami-Rei reminded Rikia.

 

"Try to be like your older brother....." Nami-Rei Jokingly added.

 

"Yeah.....Ryaku he is awesome.....BUT HE DOESN"T TEACH ME ANYTHING!!!" Rikia replied.

 

"Well, sometimes it's better to learn things yourself." Nami-Rei said. "Remember...before an eagle could  learn to fly...he must first learn how to stand on his talons..." he added.

 

"Whoa...." Rikia said "I didn't get it." he added.

 

"What I mean is that you should learn things in a slow but a sure pace." Nami-Rei said.

 

"Now come, it's time for the afternoon rest." Nami-Rei added.

 

And so all the ninjas stopped their training and they all went to their respective shelters to rest and prepare for the next training session. While Nami-Rei went to the mountains to meditate.

Upon stumbling across this writing....I was like....OMG Samurai deeper Kyo! (anime based on Sekigahara war)
